Quality time bomb or overstating the case?

At PiR we have experienced an increase in the demand from clients for permanent and interim senior level Quality Assurance leaders. Through our Executive Search Practice and Talent Mapping and engagement processes we have found that there appears to be a decline in the number and quality of senior level QA leadership professionals in the UK life science market. When exploring this with client contacts and candidates there were a number of theories that were put forward including; a reduction of life science manufacturing in the UK, the interim/consultancy career path becoming increasingly attractive, professionals going the interim/consulting route before gaining leadership experience and increased challenges faced by QA professionals in the sector.
